There is a chinese saying "男儿有泪不轻弹", meaning that boys don't cry easily. CP's parents must have done something truly meaningful that he became such emotional during the tea ceremony. Thanks to google map, our first attempt driving down to Skudai, Johor completed with zero obstacle! And to Kai Sen & Shirley, this is a very beautiful night and we did enjoy capturing the moments. Not to forget, the idea of using the cupcakes to replace the layers wedding cake is ..err. cute :-)

The old style chinese wedding is back in trend. Sam & Amy decided to make their wedding event a memorable one by practicing the traditional custom. Apart from the normal tea ceremony, they rent a red sedan. Lucky enough for Sam's friends who have to carry Amy in the sedan as the distance from the between the 2 destination is just a few doors away.

The most rewarding thing as a wedding photographer

Wedding event photography is really a energy consuming career. Sometimes at end of the dinner reception, both the hands and legs are numb. And the stomach starts making funny noises. After all that, the most rewarding thing may not be how much we got paid, nor the photos win us some international awards. It's the compliment from the wedding couple.

So, this is what huei huei wrote in the email:
"It has been a pleasant wedding experience with you guys around to capture and freeze each moment in photos. I knew I can count on Mr&Mrs2. Poay Siak and I and our families will always treasure and cherish our wedding day memories through the eyes of your camera lenses. Thanks for everything!"

Thanks you for all these words, it make us feel energetic again!

I’m so glad that you finally tied the knot with Mandy. My honor to be your wedding photographer.So great that we managed to catch the morning sun with some beautiful shot at the beach, but we really drove like crazy because we were behind time... phew... luckily we are still in one piece. While the sunrise picture is great, the Penang Peranakan Mansion is fantastic! Your guitar and saxophone is so nice that we forgot the hot weather. We traveled a lot on this assignment. First we went Jalan Ipoh for the pre-wedding, then we went uphill to Genting Highland for the dinner, and also drove to Ulu Yam for the Tea Ceremony… Unfortunately, we didn’t get to enjoy the famous “Yammy Lor Mee” ☹

Time for some Chinese Lessons

Fai tried very hard to write those few Chinese words to get thru the test. Especially the word “ “ has way too many strokes to remembered. And in this tense situation, he just couldn’t get it right! Saved by the bell, someone tossed him a palm with Chinese System. Instead of writing it, Fai successfully “drew” the perfect word. The reward is … the beautiful Hui Sein!

Chee Yang and Yon threw us an idea to have the wedding photography that could show his childhood. Well, why not with this great idea! So we did it at the abandoned house where he used to stay. They went all the way jumping, squatting, hugging, kissing... even making fun of themselves! It was so funny that actually laughed out loud behind the camera! Newly wed + old abandoned house, it was a meaningful moments It was only after the shoot I found out that they are closed friends of my wife’s friend! What a small world.

I put it beautiful and not romantic simply because both our Mrs. are at home while we are here at this amazing event :-( However I must say that we are pleased to be part of this lovely beach wedding. From the theme, colors, decoration to music, everything here is very well planned. I think it is every girl’s dream to have their “once in a life time” in this way!

Frankly, we were excited and worried in the same time for this special assignment. Lam & Tzeai are both from advertising industry, their expectation on the outcome could be very high... Tzeai is very clear of what she wants, she came out with the idea of the white and purple balloons, she even showed us some reference for the photography treatment! What is more interesting is that she invited 3 beautiful bridesmaids to join in! Done in a very spontaneous way in just short 2 hours, this is one of the work we are very proud of :-)

Yes, I mean it... but in Indonesian Rupiah :-P
Me and Sue (my lovely wife) thought of something more fun to do other than shopping in Ubud Pasar, eating “Babi Guling” and “Dirty Duck” dinner. We rent a motorbike, hop from one spot to the other, set the camera on timer mode, and fix it on the tripod. Tadaaa!!!!
The “million Rupiahs” shot is done! We could have more of these shots, but it rains after that... Sigh...

Some people might wonder why do we clink the glasses in a toast. One of the interesting answer is to add a sense of hearing to wine drinking. Well, it’s true enough as you can see, smell and taste the wine, but you can’t hear it... On the other hand, the “Yum Seng” culture ( in which I have no idea about the origin) probably does more that that. It’s the highlight of the Chinese wedding dinner where everyone shout with top of their voice “Drink to victory!!!” Is it to celebrate the success of the wedding? Or a way to deliver the wishes? Whatever it is, we just have a lot of fun. So, Yuuuuuummmmmmm Seng!!!
